ClientShelf has been developed to meet the needs of coaches by helping them manage their coaching business easily and effectively.

How it all began

I’m Lisa LaRue, a career coach, career development consultant and EMCC Master Practitioner Coach working in private practice for almost 20 years. 

When I started my coaching and consulting business, I often felt overwhelmed by countless digital files, paper-based forms, reports and handwritten notes. These were stored on an external hard drive and the physical folders were stored in a filing cabinet until it came time to dispose of them securely.

Over the years, I moved to a fully digital system, avoiding storing physical documents and paperwork. Like so many coaches, I created my own systems to manage my client data and coaching business. However, it became more complex as I adopted different tools and used a variety of software to manage client data, resources and documents. Eventually, I found I was using so many different platforms, and my business administration became stressful and time-consuming. It was clear I needed an all-in-one client management system (CMS) that could store everything in one place. It also needed to be secure and cloud-based as I was increasingly working remotely.

In my search to find a solution, I struggled to find affordable cloud-based software that could manage my client data and interactions effectively. Nothing I found quite suited my needs. They were either too complex with loads of functions I didn’t need or were far too expensive. Often, they were both.

I knew what I needed, I just couldn’t find it. Speaking to other coaches, I learned that my struggle wasn’t unique. Many other coaches faced the same challenges and desperately sought a solution.

The solution

Out of frustration, in 2020 I decided to map out what I needed in a cloud-based client management system. I then took this to a software developer to bring my vision to life.

The result is ClientShelf – easy-to-use, secure cloud-based software designed to meet the needs of coaches.
The onboarding process of new clients is a breeze. With just a couple of clicks, you can send a coaching agreement and pre-coaching questionnaire ahead of your first session. These are attached to each client’s record for review as needed.

ClientShelf keeps track of the time remaining for all your clients. The visual interface makes it easy to see the time allocated and remaining on clients’ packages or services. As you progress through the coaching process, simply add a client note and time spent. ClientShelf takes care of the rest.

Managing multiple clients is no longer stressful. With ClientShelf, you can jump right into a client record, review your notes and quickly pick up where you left off. Preparing for coaching sessions becomes fast and effortless as you can quickly see what’s been achieved so far and gain clarity about the next steps. From your client interface, you can also monitor your overall client caseload and quickly identify who might need follow-up. 

You can use ClientShelf’s questionnaire builder to send feedback questionnaires throughout the coaching process and at the end of the coaching. This helps you ensure you’re always providing the best possible service and meeting your client’s needs.
